Destiny Bound's Mentoring Programs Comes to Wyandanch Union Free School District - September 2023
Free afterschool programs.
Programs:
Girls Are Cool with Tools: Workshop focusing on introducing
young girls to early STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts,
and Math) innovations by use of learning early carpentry skills.
I AM...Financially Savvy: A modified financial literacy course for
elementary students. Learning money management skills.
Ages 10-14.
Bridging the Gap: An in-depth financial literacy course for
high-school students. Learning financial stability and
independence through courses in saving, budgeting, banking,
credit, fraud, investing, and much more.
In-person programs will run for bi-weekly for 6 months to 1 year. Mentees must be committed.** H.S. students Juniors and Seniors successfully completing program will receive a letter of recommendation.*** All mentees will receive a Certificate of Completion.
* Classes will be divided by age. All topics will be discussed in an age-appropriate fun filled way.
**Mentee agreement must be signed committing to program.
***All other letters of recommendation, upon request.
