A Different Type of LENS
A Different Type of LENS will focus on empowering our youth to look through a different lens through photography in their neighborhoods. Looking through a different lens can activate one's critical thinking; problem-solving skills, enhance observational skills and experience their world in a new way. In photography, creativity is all about seeing things from a new perspective. Looking at various compositions, lighting, and color combinations. The mentees will combine photography and life skills while viewing their neighborhood through a different lens in a fun, interactive way. A Different Type of LENS will meet every other Saturday in person or virtual. Mentees will utilize their cell phones and/or cameras will be distributed. They will be given the task of photographing their neighborhood and submitting their photos, where we will view and discuss during each session. All mentees will receive a free backpack, and at the conclusion of the program certificates will be given.
